An Enrolled Agent (E.A.) is a tax professional with standards similar to those of lawyers and physicians. They are recognized by the treasury and IRS at every administrative level. An E.A. has passed a complex exam given by the IRS on all aspects of taxation concerning individuals, Corporations, LLC, Partnerships, Estates and Trusts. The principle concern of an E.A. is honest, intelligent and ethical representation of the financial position of taxpayers before governmental agencies. All E.A.s are required to abide by the Standard of Ethical Conduct outlined by the U.S. Treasury Dept. and Code of Ethics & Professional Conduct of the National Association of Enrolled Agents (NAEA). They are required to meet rigid Continued Professional Competency requirements through annual education in the interpretation, application and administration of federal and state tax laws. The requirements of continuous education required for an E.A.to maintain enrollment insures their clients of advice based on the most current tax laws. New legislation makes it more important than ever to seek professional help. Someone like an enrolled agent. Tax planning, preparation and representation is our business.
